The Friends of Beckwith Ranch, Inc. announces the 1st Annual Beckwith Ranch Spring Roundup Fundraiser at the historic Beckwith Ranch near Westcliffe, Colorado. The event is to raise money to preserve The Historic Beckwith Ranch.
Showing in our corral Arena, in the spirit of the history and heritage of Wet Mountain Valley, we will be featuring Music Meadows Ranch demonstrating Horse Training, Country Strong Youth Program will demonstrate equine assisted youth learning, local farriers will demonstrate horseshoeing, and the Daughters of the Revolution will sponsor an official and authentic Ute Cultural Presentation.
In the Mansion, the Beckwith Docents portraying the Beckwith Family will host tours and presentations and Freeman Miller will be providing wagon rides from the Porte Cochere. That evening will feature an exclusive Cattle Barons Dinner catered by Buffalo Gals Grilling Co. serving their famous Santa Maria Style BBQ. Limited seating is available.
For lunch, Rockin’ VX Chuckwagon will be serving up an authentic cowboy lunch while Cowboy Poets will entertain you while you eat. Or pick up great food at our Food Court featuring Smith’s Snack Shack, Mountain Pass Paninis, and Big Lou’s Lemonade Stand.
Nearby, local bands including Smythe and Taylor, Silver Cliff Lights, and Jack Knaff will be playing alternating with Pueblo Pepper Steppers demonstrating the fun of square dancing.
Visit Velma’s Playhouse, our Family Fun Center, where families can build their custom stick horse and then race them in the Arena, get their faces painted, learn calf roping, learn how Father Dan makes his beautiful honey comb statues, build a railroad at
All Aboard Westcliffe’s Railway Booth, and play games that were popular in the 1890s.
At Smokey Jack Plaza, Dark Skies will have telescopes set up to safely view the sun and feature their Planet Quest kid’s exhibit to learn about our Solar System.
And don’t miss our Beckwith Boutique where local artisans, artists, authors, and crafters will be selling their unique items. Or visit the Silent Auction in our Bunkhouse to bid on great bargains including antiques, original paintings and a handmade quilt.
Tickets are available at Looks ‘n Books, Candy’s Coffee, and on the day of the event at Beckwith Ranch located six miles north of Westcliffe, Colorado, on Highway 69 N.
