Services for Jimmie Ray Pierce

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, Jimmie Ray Pierce, a beloved husband, brother and friend, passed away at the young age of 69. Born to parents Carl and Tessie Pierce on August 17, 1953 in Madisonville, Texas, Jimbo, as he was lovingly known, attended Erie High School, where he played football, baseball and basketball.

He went on to join the Navy as a chef for five years, ending with an honorable discharge. Jimmie met his wife, Theresa, in 2019, and just celebrated their one year anniversary on December 9th. Jimmie loved to travel, but was most known for his large, loving heart, showering pretty much anyone with impromptu gifts, flowers or food. Jimmie also loved caring for his furry “kids,” Sage and Mr. Alex, as well as taking great pride in the care of his home. One of his favorite hobbies was to go cruising in his Hummer, playing the oldies and singing – mostly out of tune! Jimmie is survived by his wife, Theresa, his sister Yvonne (Shirley) Frye, as well as two nieces, two nephews and various family members.
The funeral Mass for Jimmie will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Westcliffe, Colorado. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment of ashes will be immediately after at the Catholic Cemetery. All are invited to a reception following at Tony’s Mountain Pizza. Cards can be sent to:
