Marilyn Stoltzfus
October 24, 1955 – December 29, 2020

Marilyn Stoltzfus, 65, of Hillside, Colorado, died at 5 a.m., Tuesday, December 29th at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 24, 1955, in Salem, Ohio, the only daughter of Howard and Arlene (Witmer) Weaver. On July 26, 1975, she married her best friend, John Stoltzfus.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons: Nicholas (Naomi) Stoltzfus of Westcliffe, Nevin (Elizabeth) Stoltzfus of Cañon City, Nathaniel (Karla) Stoltzfus of Westcliffe, and David (Julie) Stoltzfus of Hillside; 22 grandchildren: Slade, Katelyn, AJ, Anne, Tyrell, Serena, Chelise, Conrad, Malakai, Bennett, Emmelyn, Caleb, Kirsten, Jediael, Malia, Easton, Tate, Elijah, Adriele, Brenna, and Raelyn Stoltzfus, and a little girl on the way; three brothers: Ernest (Naomi) Weaver, James (Joy) Weaver, and Dan (Tina) Weaver; sister-in-law Brenda Weaver; “adopted” daughters: Miracle Martinez, Janelle Snader, and Michelle Snader; and “adopted” grandson Ezra. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Weaver, her sister-in-law Lois Weaver, and one grandchild.
Marilyn loved people, and loved them well. She was known for her welcoming smile, whether in the Hillside Post Office where she worked, at Skyline Mennonite Church where she was a member, or on the ranch where she lived and worked by her beloved John’s side. Her four boys were her pride and joy, and she invested much time into them and their families. She was the best Grandma any grandkid could ask for, making life and learning an adventure. She enjoyed vigorous walks, creative crafts and foods, hilarious stories, ladies’ teas, and quiet times with her Jesus, in which she prayed regularly for family, neighbors, friends, and God’s work around the world and in her own heart.
The funeral service was held at the Abbey Gymnasium, 2951 US Hwy 50, Cañon City, CO, on Thursday, January 7th, at 10:30 a.m., with interment following at Odd
