The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call. Introductions of the public followed.
Commissioner Printz presented Chairman Flower with a certificate of appreciation for all the hard work he’s done to include remodeling the Public Health office, the VSO, and the Human Services office as well as the new table for the BOCC.
Chairman Flower called attention to the new microphone system that will allow both the audience in the room and the audience on streaming to hear the speakers.

The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, and roll call. Introductions of the public followed.
Chairman Flower opened the first meeting of 2020 with prayer.

Commissioner Canda reported that Mr. Kunkleman from CenturyLink continues to pursue grant money for laying more fiber along Highway 96.

Good Tidings of Great Joy

Through signs in our yards, or the sweaters we wear, to even the jewelry we put on, this time of year provides a stage to proclaim what we believe. It has become a time of year in which people of other faiths or no faith at all tolerate a little Christian joy. However,
as time goes on the tolerance is shrinking for those who want to proclaim the birth of their Savior. We see the workplace, the stores, the media, and even our neighbors asking that we all be aware of how a nativity scene can be offensive or even the phrase “Merry Christmas”.
Their goal is to be all inclusive during the holidays.

Commissioner Canda reported that CenturyLink is looking at options for extending fiber down to McKenzie Junction to include grant application. The meeting with Sallie Clark from USDA Rural Development went well and Mr. Canda was pleasantly surprised at all the programs available for small rural communities.
