Lynn Doyle LaGree of Westcliffe, Colorado, went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2021. Lynn was born in Cañon City, Colorado, to Douglas Nolan and Rosalie Ruth (Nielsen) LaGree on March 25, 1954. Lynn grew up in Cañon City where he enjoyed playing football in high school and later took business classes at the College of the Canyons. Lynn worked at his parent’s owned and operated grocery store, Cañon Market, from the age of 15 until 1997. He often joked he was born in aisle 10 at the store.
Lynn loved the outdoors. In his younger days, Lynn archery hunted, fished, camped, and rode dirt bikes. In 1983 Lynn got his private pilot’s license. He enjoyed flying immensely and spent many hours at the airport.
On February 8, 1989, Lynn married Jeanne Marie Powell. In 1997 they moved to Westcliffe, Colorado, and built a business together, the Westcliffe Supermarket. Lynn was also very active in the community of Westcliffe. Lynn retired from the grocery business in 2016.
Lynn will be greatly missed by many.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Jeanne; brothers, Mark (Sandy), Nathan (Brenda), and Orin (Megan); stepson, Russell Macklin; nephews and nieces, Levi (Amanda), Lani (Grant) Simmons, Casara, Preston, Isaac, Clayton, Jacob, Makena, and Nolan; step-grandchildren, Dakota (Jon) McFarland, Cheyenne (Mitchell) Harbison, and Dallas (Ralph) Aiken; three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Cowboy Church located on N Hwy 69, Westcliffe, Colorado.
