Custer County Middle School Track Team Competes at Sangre de Cristo Track Meet
Coach Eric Prins reported that the middle school team traveled to Mosca and participated in the Sangre De Cristo Track Meet on Friday April 6th.
The boys were led by Joshua Christy and TonyTomasoni. Joshua placed First in the long jump and second in the 100 m. Tony placed second in the discus, third in the shot put and forth in the triple jump.
The girls were led by Kyleigh Martin, who finished second in the 400 m., fifth in the hurdles and was part of the sixth place 1600 m. relay. Brooke Bomgardner finished third in the 800 m. and was part of the 1600 m. relay. Brooke Flynn finished second in the hurdles, Miah Sayhouse placed second in the shot put. Katelyn Daniels and Kylie Carter were the other members of the 1600 relay.
Custer County High School Track Competes at Salida Invitational
On Saturday, April 7th the Custer County Bobcats traveled to Salida to run, jump and throw against 21 other high school teams. The girls placed 13th and the boys were ranked 9th at the end of the day, a day which started out pretty cold but warmed up by noon.
Bobcat girls who placed in the top eight in their respective events—thus earning points for the team—were the following: Kaydin Moore placed 3rd in triple jump, 8th in 300 m. hurdles and tied for 8th in 100 m. hurdles. Kayla Camper placed 5th in long jump and 6th in 100 m. dash. Memphis Curry placed 8th in shot put.
