With the “spike” prediction by one of the Board of Health board members apparently not happening, the only drama this week was the Board’s final vote to send Jordy “Red Bug” Hedberg, Editor of the Wet Mountain Tribune a request to print a Letter to the Editor from them to Jordy asking Jordy to retract and apologize for being a bad boy. CUSTER COUNTY, Colo.

Last week’s vote by the Custer County Public Health Agency (BoH) board members to declare the county “normal” and refuse to follow the covid mandates and rules from our Denver overlords made shockwaves all over the state. And especially in the King Polis throne room. As seen below, the state bureaucrats were in an uproar and literally threatened Custer with retribution.
So, this BoH meeting of March 10, 2021, promised to be pretty hot. And hot it was.

Yes, we have more drama at the Custer County Public Health Agency. But this time it was generated by an outside source with a dubious agenda (instead of the usual infighting between the Shut Her Down/Level Redders directors Flowers and Printz versus the commonsense health AND business oriented Director Canda.)
With regards to the latest scandal, board member Jay Printz, in a rare moment of clarity and brevity, summed up the whole affair about halfway through the brief 21 minute meeting Monday morning, December 14th, when he said: “I think it was a witch hunt.” Amen. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

Attorney Items:

Attorney Smith said he received a CORA request and had to get an extension in order to comply. Vernon Roth did the document search for him and Smith thanked him. Attorney Smith said he was riding his ATV over the weekend and notices property owners building without any permitting or septic and these appeared to be built as dwellings. He reviewed those with Jackie Hobby of Planning and Zoning.

The Custer County Board of Health (BOH) convened via teleconference, last Thursday, June 4th, where they discussed the Custer County Fair, Westcliffe Stampede Rodeo, and the Independence Day parade.

The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call. Present in the room were Chairman Flower, Commissioner Canda, Commissioner Printz, Attorney Smith and Clerk Camper. Those were the people allowed in the room.
Mr. Flower began the meeting by stating that he’d measured and that only those five people could be allowed in the room to keep
social distancing guidelines. Elisa Livengood and Meredith Nichols, as well as Admin Assistant Cara Evans were present via phone.
